Yup, this Texas girl now lives in California!

I moved to California about a week ago for school and work. I'm a nanny, how fun! I live with my cousin and I watch her kid 3 days a week. Starting at the end of August, I will be going back to school....

WHAT?!?!

I know I'm supposed to be there tho so I am just gonna go since God wants me to and see where it goes from there..

K so I have had 'Bounce' by The Cab stuck in my head alll day. It cracks me up cuz Alex said "This song is called Bounce and it's all about sex" ...Yea I would have  never guessed that...

ANY WHOOO.

I'm sitting at West End coffee shop listening to everyone play for open mic night. I'm up here almost every Thursday cuz the awesome Simone Nicole (myspace.com/simonexnicole) plays most of the time. It's fun. Usually the same people are here every week but once in a while you get new faces. Today a 15 year old played and he was GREAT. He really impressed me.

My birthday is on Sunday! I'm really excited! Even tho I'm really not doing anything special. I can't decided on anything. I guess I could just go to a restaurant and order something with alcohol in it just cuz I can?

Today me and Simone bought a boston creme cake our birthday (Her's was Tuesday!) We ate a slice and a half each. IT WAS SOO GOOD. It had our names on it and candles. It was great! It's bad cuz thats all I have eaten today besides a chocolate cookie....chocolate chocolate chocolate...haha I need some REAL food haha. 

I'm trying to figure out what to write, I have felt bad cuz I haven't written in a long time...soon I will post an interview with This Beautiful Republic and probably an interview w/ Simone. It's been a while since Best Bet Promotions has posted an interview but I'm getting back into the swing of things! =PP

I have made the decision. I am going to save up $2000 so I can go do a shoe drop in Argentina this year or next year. I want to go give shoes to little kids who don't have them. I want to step out of my comfort zone and learn about other peoples lives...

I will host a walk this year. I will promote it like crazy to get as many people there as possible and make as much money as possible to provide education,build wells, build schools, provide aids treatment research,ect.

-Oh and I'm most likely moving to Valencia California in August.

Hey everyone!

Well since this is my first blog on The One Love, I had to make it something good!

Saturday February 7th, Me and Simone went to a benefit for Falling Whistles. It was held at the historic South Side in Dallas! It was beautiful! I love the way they set everything up. It gave off a great vibe! Before I go into more details about the benefit, let me give you a quick summary of what the organization is.

Falling Whistles is an organization dedicated to help save child soldiers from the wars happening in the Democratic Republic of Congo. These children are kidnapped from their homes and forced to fight on the front lines. They are given whistles and told to blow them as loud as possible to scare away the oncoming army when really they are put there as a temporary shield and just take the first round of bullets. These children are no older then 14 and are exposed to the use of drugs and alcohol. 

The benefit was called "Love comes to town." They had a silent auction for paintings, photography and sculptures. The artwork was gorgeous. I mostly enjoyed the photography :). They also had a concert going on with awesome artists like Seth Philpott and Ben Rector. In the main room they had other organizations like Toms Shoes (tomsshoes.com) there who got a chance to share what they do.

There was a wall that had been painted white and they had put bowls of red and black paint. It was for anyone who wanted to paint their thoughts on the wall. It was beautiful! Me and Simone contributed to the wall of course. Simone painted a heart tree and I added "We can conquer this great divide." It looks pretty cool if I do say so myself =) I enjoyed myself at the event!
