gold in genting
November 28, 2008
i just got back from genting highlands which is where we went for a band competition. We worked our butts off for this and it certainly didnt go to a waste. We achieved a gold award and emerged 2nd. This might only be a small competition with 14 bands, but we really did work hard for this. Without all the mistakes we made, its the best we've played our pieces. I believe everyone was focused and determined during that performance cause we only get one chance.
I can't help but replay the moment where we saw "gold" on the projector. Everyone jumped up from our chairs and started screaming. Some even cried, i almost did, but i didnt. We expected to get a silver because there were some major mistakes which were obvious. Maybe that's what made us even happier. We were supposed to assemble at the lobby and almost everyone had "gold" written on their arm in lipstick.
There were times when people started getting annoyed or angry and teachers also got angry, but people do make mistakes and we will learn from them.
This is our first gold ever(we've only been around for 8 years or so) and also my first competition with the band. Now, all we need to do is aim for that gold in SYF or even GWH, and put up our best concert ever on dec 13.
