LA....and Dave Barnes!!!

April 10, 2008

I've been in LA since Monday.....the weather is amazing, and a nice break from chilly NYC!  It's funny...when I'm here I never seem to get the drive time down to a science, and am always either super early, or super late to where I'm going.  l have been enjoying driving and listening to music in the car.  It's nice to get a chance to catch up on the piles of cd's that are sitting on my desk....and things seem to sound better when you're driving around in the sunshine :)

It's been an exciting week for me at work.  I signed an artist last year named Dave Barnes.  His album came out last week (April 1st) and we had a GREAT first week.  He debuted at #94 on the Billboard Top 200....and has been in the top 10 albums for over a week now on iTunes.  You should go check it out.  He was chosen to be in the iTunes "Next Big Thing" program, so the album is only $5.99.....go buy a copy or two (ha!  shameless plug!).

Good Friends

March 30, 2008

Last weekend I hosted a surprise birthday party for my hubby....who is now a young 35 :)  It was such a great weekend full of fun, surprises, good food, good music, good conversation....but most of all full of GOOD FRIENDS!  This past week I have been really thinking and reflecting at how fortunate and blessed we are to have such great people in our life.  To all of you out there, you know who you are, we love you and our lives are richer and more beautiful because you are in them!

Happy New Year.....I mean, Happy February

February 04, 2008

Can't believe it's the first week of February ALREADY!  I got back from vacation and just hit the ground running.....

Life has been great so far, except for the sickness I recently had that lasted a week!  I guess there's something going around NYC and I was one of the lucky ones that got it.  Other than that, I'm loving being back....loving working.....loving seeing my friends....it's all good.

I went to see AtomicTom and The Click Five last week at The Blender Theater.  GREAT show!  Nate got up and played piano on a song with Luke, which was awesome!  Such a great night of amazing music.  It was probably one of the only shows recently that I haven't left after the first few songs :)

I better get back to work....will blog again soon

Venice

January 05, 2008

So, we just got back from Venice....yes yes, THAT Venice!!!  It was incredible!!  Ben planned this surprise trip for me, and I had no idea what we were doing.  He told me that we were going to the French countryside for a few days, since we didn't take a proper honeymoon after our wedding.  I was really excited because this region we were supposedly going to had amazing foie gras (which I LOVE!).  On New Years Eve, we went to "pick up his friends car" at the train station, and after waiting there for about 15 minutes he told me that we were not going to drive anywhere and handed me a book on VENICE!  I was thrilled (and shocked!).  I am such a snoop and it's hard to keep secrets from me, but he did an amazing job!

We took the overnight train, which was fun.  After eating dinner at the restaurant, it was time to go to bed...and then in the morning we woke up in Venice.  We spent 4 days and 3 nights there just walking around, exploring the city, eating WAY too much and sampling the tiramisu at every single restaurant!  The weather was great, especially for this time of year.  The first 2 days were clear blue skies, and the last 2 were a bit overcast but still wonderful.  It was nice to be in the city when there weren't so many tourists.  The trip was amazing....my husband is amazing...and I'm psyched, rested, and ready for an amazing 2008!

We got back to Paris this morning and then leave for NYC on Monday afternoon.  Hope everyone is getting back into the swing of things...it's going to be a great year!!!

Ahhhhh Paris!!

December 30, 2007

Hope that everyone had an amazing Christmas.  We have been in Paris for about a week and a half already, and still have another week to go!  it's been the most wonderfully NEEDED vacation!  We've caught up on our sleep, and movie watching, as well as gaining some holiday pounds thanks to Ben's dad's amazing cooking!

This is a picture I took on my Blackberry phone last night while driving by the Eiffel Tower.  After all the times I have been here, thanks to my wonderful husband, it's amazing how this city never gets boring.  I never tire of seeing the gorgeous buildings, eating the amazing food, and just breathing in the city!

I'm looking forward to an exciting 2008!

I thought we were going to have snow....

December 14, 2007

So, yesterday it was supposed to snow here, and I was SO EXCITED about the thought of a beautiful snowy day in the city!  Much to my dismay, all it did for most of the day was RAIN!  Ugh!  I have loved the snow ever since I was a little girl....there's nothing better than waking up to a freshly fallen snow.  I couldn't WAIT to get my warm clothes on and go out and play!  There's something about snow that still makes me feel giddy and happy......well, at least until it turns to brown slush that the taxi cabs can drive by and splash all over you :)

We are getting ready to leave next Tuesday for the holidays.  I'm so excited!  We'll be in France with Ben's family for 3 weeks.....I am looking forward to relaxing, watching lots of movies, catching up on sleep, eating delicious food, and spending time with family!!

Hope your holidays are wonderful!

Nate Campany

December 11, 2007

I am sitting here at my desk thinking about the people that mean a lot to me, and I feel like I need to give a special shout out to Nate Campany.  For those of you who know him, you will understand what I'm talking about when I say that he is probably one of my favorite people on the planet!  Nate is the sweetest, most hard working, loyal, talented, caring, loyal, funny, thoughtful, creative, witty, and most of all one of the most fun people to be around.  I'm so thankful that we're in each other's life!

Nate - it's going to be an amazing 2008!!!

End of the year.....

December 11, 2007

Here I am at the end of another year....not having completed all the things I wanted to complete....feeling stressed out and in desperate need of a break.....starting to make my new years resolutions for '08 and telling myself that THIS time I will really take time for ME and create some boundaries......

It's hard to create time for yourself when you love what you do, but the older I get (no comment BEN T - ha!) the more I realize that if I'm spread too thin, I'm not much help to anyone else.  One of the first things that attracted me to my husband is when he completely called me out on my "busyness" telling me I was FAKE BUSY!  WHAT the heck is fake busy?!?!  The more I thought about this phrase, the more I realized he's RIGHT!  Ben has a knack for speaking the truth so honestly and clearly that it cuts right through and makes you see things you have been avoiding.....this is one of his many gifts.  Anyway, I want to be less FAKE busy in 2008 and take more time for the people in my life who are real friends...who challenge me to be better....who love me no matter what.

WOW...this is only my second blog, and it's kind of turning into a therapy session :)  I promise they won't all be like this, but I guess it's just how my brain is working at the end of the year.

On another note, I'm trying desperately to get my Christmas shopping done by next Tuesday when we leave for 3 weeks - YAY!!!!!!!!!!  I'm looking forward to a holiday of rest, relaxation, and spending time with my sweet husband!

 Much love,

B

HELLO!!!

November 29, 2007

Ok, so I've been the LAMEST blogger here yet....except for Ben Tischker who is now the only person who hasn't blogged :)

To say that I am honored to be a part of this AMAZING group of people is an UNDERSTATEMENT.....I'm even more honored to call them my friends!  It's so important that we keep each other encouraged and creative.  There has never been a time where people are more hungry for great art!  I believe that we are a part of the next generation of people who are going to affect and change things for the better.

I will be a much better blogger from now on.....I promise!
