Hi Pammy and Norman!

March 30, 2009

My parents have called and texted me 3 times now in reference to something I've posted on this blog. Hi Pammy and Norman!  A few coworkers have talked to me about things I post on this blog. All of them kind-of tiptoe around it - like "Oh, yeah I heard you ran from like, the Sommet Center to Razorlight or something...on your The Love One thingy blog thing?".

If you know me, and you're reading this - it's okay. In fact, I kind of love that you are reading this. It shows that you care. Because we all know I am TERRIBLE at keeping in touch with people. This is my way of keeping up with myself and with everyone in my life - and adding a little bit of help and support for a great organization while I'm at it.

The same goes for Twitter. I put the word "stalk" in my username as a tongue-in-cheek joke, but really - it's okay to keep up with me there. It's probably the best insight into my daily life - as embarrassing or annoying as it may be :-P  hahaha

One of my favorite bloggers (outside of The One Love, of course) is Matt Doyle, an actor from Spring Awakening, Gossip Girl, and Bare.  He wrote an entry a long long time ago that I relate with pretty well!  It went a little something like this:

"A funny moment that continues to happen is that people are continually "revealing" to me that they read my blog. Hi Shawn!

Why the quotation marks? Well...Because every time someone tells me that they read my blog, it's like a confession. They sort of tip-toe around the situation, careful not to get killed by...me...?

For the record: I would not have named my blog Matt Doyle, nor mentioned the professional work I was doing, nor set the URL as mattdoyleweb.blogspot.com...if I wanted to keep it private. Blogs are hardly private...but this one is pretty much meant to be a big glowing stamp of public goodness, so read away! We live in the age of google. Nowadays when we meet a person...we google them. I have no problem with a person finding my blog. I guess it's sort of the new way of shaking hands. Creepy? Yeah, but what isn't creepy when it comes to how we're living now. Myspace anyone?"

Have any other TOL bloggers had confessions from friends saying they read their blogs? I can't be the only one...
