December 31, 2009

2009 was quite a year for me.  Lots of ups and downs, but looking back on it, I'm incredibly blessed.  Here's the run down of my last year...

January - Got my first award as a performer ever!  I was voted "Favorite Actor" by the readers of FanGap.com!  I was up against other performers that I'm a huge fan of, so it was a big honor to win, and so cool to win my first award. :)

February - Spent a lot of February judging a talent competition called American Icon.  Got to hear so many talented singers compete and had a blast judging!

March - My birthday!  I was sick again this year, but I got to be a part of the coolest event I've done in my entire life.  I went to New York (which is one of my favorite places on the planet) for the 1>0 Benefit Concert.  This amazing event raised over $68,000 for charity and was put together by some of the most inspiring girls I've been able to meet in my life.  I got to meet and co-host the show with Tiffany Giardina, and my friends Push Play performed.  Got to share the stage with Graham Colton - one of my favorite singers ever, as well as Saving Jane, Tamarama, and WOW.  It was a night I will NEVER forget in my entire life.  Hands down, the highlight of 2009 for me.  THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THERE for touching my life and being a part of an amazing night!

April - Got cast in my first movie ever!  The film is called Bloomington and is about a former child star who goes back to college all these years later only to fall in love with her professor, and deal with real life vs. fame.  The film will be digitally released in 2010.

May - Los Angeles!  Got to fulfill a lifelong dream of mine...recording my first song, "It Girl"!  Such a cool experience, and had a blast hanging out and making music in LA!  Also got to perform a really fun show with Dreams of University to raise money for Riley Children's Hospital.

June - "It Girl" was released to iTunes and digital music sites.  Such a cool feeling to be able to share my first song with the world!  June also took me to New York City to get to see the Jonas Brothers perform live at the Today show!  Had a blast!

July - July was spent gearing up for some upcoming performances and working on collaborating with some different songwriters and musical sounds.  Also, lots of cookouts!  haha

August - Performed at the OC Fair!  It was HOT, but I had the priveledge of performing my first show in California, another dream come true for me.  My friend from Austrailia was in town, so she got to come hang with me and my friend from West Virginia flew out with me to hang out too.  I also had the priveledge of making some amazing new friends while I was out there, so I had a blast.  And I got to interview with KOCE-TV while I was out there too before my show.  Had a blast.  Oh yeah...and tried chocolate covered bacon.  Disgusting, but had to try it.  hahaha

September - Got to perform "It Girl" live at the finale' of Indy Idol...so cool to actually get to start performing my song live!  I also was back in New York to celebrate the release of Push Play's second album!  Got to see a lot of friends and had a great time!  Also ate at one of the best restaurants in New York City - Galaxy.  Loved it.

October - Released a video for my song "It Girl"!  Had such a blast filming it with some of my best friends.  Also had the priveledge of sharing the stage later in the month for a concert with some amazing bands...Push Play, News From Verona, and I Sing The Body Electric.

November - Had an AWESOME opportunity to film a holiday Mastercard commercial with Alyson Hannigan with another one of my good friends!  So many laughs...hope you guys liked it!

December -  Another commerical, this time for a casino!  So fun to get paid to gamble (and not have to lose any money!) hahaha  I got to spend Christmas and New Years at home with my family and we had lots of family and friends over, so it was great to have everyone come to my house for once.  Definitely a great time of year. :)

So I guess that's my year-end wrap up.  Here's to making 2010 even better! :D
