It's increasing

February 15, 2009

What is increasing you may ask.Global temperature is increasing.I received a brochure about global warming from school, i think i should share it with all of you, even though we all know what to do to save our Earth.

If global temperature increases, extreme weather events such as floods, droughts and tropical storms will become more frequent and dangerous.

If global temperature increases, sea level could rise by 18 to 59cm flooding, low-lying island states inhabited by millions of people.

If global temperature increases, large areas of rainforest could be lost due to significant reduction in rainfall.

If global temperature increases, salt from rising sea levels may contaminate fresh water supplies.Up to three billion more people could suffer increated water shortages by 2008.

If global temperature increases, geographical migration can result in the increase of diseases such as malaria and dengue fever.

If global temperature increases, plant and animal species which are unable to adapt quickly will be threatened by extinction.

Things you can do to reduce global warming:

Conserve Water - Turn off the water when you're not using it. While brushing your teeth or washing your car, turn off the water until you actually need it for rinsing.

Drive Less and Drive Smart - Less driving means fewer emissions. Walking or biking are great forms of exercise.

Plant a Tree - Plant a tree today, start digging. During photosynthesis, trees and other plants absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen.

Lead an Energy-Efficient Lifestyle - Save electricity and reduce global warming by turning off lights when you leave a room, and using only as much light as you need.

Reduce,Reuse,Recycle - Do your part to reduce waste by choosing reusable products instead of disposables. And whenever you can, recycle paper, plastic, newspaper, glass and aluminum cans.

Encourage Others to Conserve - Share information about recycling and energy conservation with your friends, neighbors and co-workers.That's what i'm doing now :)
