To Write Love On Her Arms

May 12, 2010

Hi. I havent updated in forever. Guess I've been too preoccupied with things that i forget to post.

I've been going through a lot lately. To a point that I hated myself, my life and everyone around me.

I've been happy, sad, pissed, perplexed, confused, stressed, hurt, and many more.

My life hasnt been going as well as it did a few years back. I dont know what happened. I miss it.

Oh well. I guess i've got to suck it up. Live life as it is while i wait for it to get better.

It will. I know it.

Think of You Later.

September 08, 2009

This might be my last chance
so maybe i should take it
i just hope your listening
to everything i'm sayin
i miss the long drives, the car rides
the bad fights, the good times.
the way you make me feel
will never leave my mind.

so quit your crying
and wipe the tears from your eyes
cause this is see you later, i'm not into goodbyes
watch the brake lights as i leave the driveway
the long nights will stay beside me
no matter where i go

think of you later in my empty room
where i, will fall asleep alone

Click Your Heels and Wish For Me

August 14, 2009

Today marks a year since the first ever concert that Panic at the Disco in Manila. Yesterday marked a year since I first met them in person.

I am very thankful that I was offered free tickets to the show on the day before the concert.
I am thankful that I decided to watch them (for the first/last time --as a whole band), meet them, and have my 2 cds signed. Because if i havent, i wouldnt even have the chance to anymore because of the recent split. Also, i am not sure if Panic! will still visit the Philippines or even come here anytime soon.

Atleast I can say that "I have met all 4 original members of Panic at the Disco" (well not really original, because i have never met Brent, however, Jon has been with the band more than Brent was)
Atleast I have the memories. And the stories to tell others about me and my friend Gaby's encounters. Those were hella crazy.

To be completely honest, this band has helped me get through most of the obstacles in my life. I wouldnt go a day without listening to atleast 2 songs by them.
They used to be my favorite but after some drama with this certain band which used to be my number 1 fave, Panic topped my list.

Re: the title of this entry, there's one thing, that i am sure, a lot of others would wish for too.
I WISH THEY NEVER SPLIT UP. because i know any misunderstanding can be fixed. they shouldnt have made a big a step as this.
However, i respect their decision and i will still be here supporting them in every step of the way.

They have truly been an inspiration not just to me but also to a million other people out there. Their uniqueness is just one of a kind and no other band can copy that.

PS:
I am aware that my thoughts and writing of this entry are scattered. So sorry. But thanks for reading tho! :)

PPS: sorry for disappearing for so long! it's good to be back

Pre-Grad Words

March 25, 2009

Something me and a few of my batchmates saw in the venue of our graduation during practice last Friday.

Apparently

March 11, 2009

It is at man's death when the people around begin to realize one's worth in life.

Guess What We Saw When We Got Home!

March 05, 2009

Yeah. The front door was jacked when we got home. Strange but luckily, nothing was stolen and no one was home that time.

But the officers said that those people may have just surveyed the house for possible things to steal or something in the future. Because apparently, it has already happened to some neighbors in the other street.

We actually have this feeling  that they may have been watching us for a period of time and have already memorized our routine. Like what time the car goes out to bring/fetch me and Sam. What time we leave the house on Sundays. And etc.

This is the very first time that this has happened in all the years we've lived in this house
So now, everyone here at home's really paranoid. Except me. Because I don't really care. JKJK.
But seriously, I feel that this is the perfect time [and excuse] to buy pepper spray.

Possible options that we thought of doing:
1. Change the door
2. Put up cameras
3. Put more locks
4. Move. Yeah. we really need to move
5. New Dog. Haha. Guard dog. I suggested goat but whatever.
[think about it! when the burglar comes it'll go "BAAAAAA!! BAAAA!!! BAAAAA!!". LOL]

Berklee In Manila

February 16, 2009

Hi everyone. Sorry for being absent for 2 months. A lot has been going on lately.

To make up for it, here's something I found really cool.

---

I created BerkleeinManila to give updates to everyone in Manila, Philippines regarding the on going process of making the city an audition site for Berklee College of Music’s “World Scholarship Tour”

I believe that Manila and the Philippines have so much talent to boot and is only waiting to get discovered by a school such as Berklee to help them develop their craft and further their artistry.

Why Berklee? Because Berklee is a forward thinking music school that aims to develop their students and give them excellent and sustainable careers in Music. Which is not really the biggest “thing to do” when you study in Manila or anywhere else in the world for most parents.

Here is an excerpt from their school philosophy found in their website:

"Berklee was founded on two revolutionary ideas: that musicianship could be taught through the music of the time; and that our students need practical, professional skills for successful, sustainable music careers. While our bedrock philosophy has not changed, the music around us has and requires that we evolve with it.

For over half a century, we’ve demonstrated our commitment to this approach by wholeheartedly embracing change. We update our curriculum and technology to make them more relevant, and attract diverse students who reflect the multiplicity of influences in today’s music. We prepare our students for a lifetime of professional and personal growth through the study of the arts, sciences, and humanities. And we are developing new initiatives to reach and influence an ever-widening audience.

More than a college, Berklee has become the world’s singular learning lab for the music of today—and tomorrow. We are a microcosm of the music world, reflecting the interplay between music and culture; an environment where aspiring music professionals learn how to integrate new ideas, adapt to changing musical genres, and showcase their distinctive skills in an evolving community. We are at the center of a widening network of industry professionals who use their openness, virtuosity, and versatility to take music in surprising new directions."

*****

I know that there are a lot of musicians, singers, performers, songwriters and artists in Manila who only DREAM of going to the school to develop their talents. I was like that a couple of years ago. And i just want to be able to help create an opportunity for them to actually pursue it. I want to help open the door and create possibilities for these people, it would be such an honor to see them shine.

I believe in pursuing your passion and honing your talents. It does not have to be music. It could be anything like shoes, fashion, photography, food or wine. If its tugging at your heart. Chances are God has put those talents within you to pursue and develop and it is only your DUTY to do so. I think it would be terribly IRRESPONSIBLE not to develop your talents and pursue your dreams. Youre a human being. Youre created to be excellent. You cannot settle for something that will kill your spirit and gusto for life.

I am blessed enough to have an opportunity like this to study in such a wonderful school even just for a couple of sems. Truth be told, i do not know how long i will be staying here for. But like i said, i am hoping that it would be long enough to see this materialize. It would be my honor to help out people who only want to pursue their passion.

So keep yourself posted here. Start navigating the Berklee website if youre really interested and hopefully well make this audition materialize! Believe it! Its your time to shine! Ill do my part to help make this happen!

Sometimes, Reading The Book Before Hand Can Ruin A Really Good Movie

November 29, 2008

Take Twilight for example.

Most of the people I know say that Twilight sucked. They said it was because they failed to put some details from the book.

I, on the other hand, loved the movie. I think it was worth it. I found it funny. Plus, it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. haha.

I admit, I haven't read Twilight. But I know how the story goes. I just don't kow those other 'intimate' details. Good thing I guess; because it saves me the disappointment that those who've read the book felt.

Oh, I have a confession to make: I confess that I am currently addicted to Twilight. and here's proof:

  1. I watched the movie on Thursday night
  2. I watched the movie online
  3. I illegally downloaded the movie
  4. I might watch the movie again on Sunday
  5. Then I might watch it again with my friends.

Crikey. :\

College/Career Options

November 28, 2008

We got our NCAE [National Career Assessment Examination] results today.
These are pretty much like SATs.

Anyway,

For my Potentials/Inclinations
I got a 92 for my Overall GSA [General Scholastic Aptitude]
- Verbal Ability was my highest

VERBAL ABILITY: This subtest measures the assertive ability of a person in view of grammatical rules and logical arrangement of ideas. Individuals with high VA have high sense of analogy, hence, they have potential in mass communication, law, teaching, and preaching vocation. Those with Average VA can be developed in advertising careers.

And a 97 for my Overall TVA [Technical - Vocational Aptitude]
- highest was Manipulative Skills

MANIPULATIVE SKILLS - This subtest measures abilities that require perceptual and visual judgment in determining figures, symbols, patterns, and nature of space as well as skills in mentally manipulating objects and concrete materials. Manipulative skills are required in occupations such as machine technicians, jewelers, watchmakers, engravers, handicraft makers and the like.

And my Occupational fields of interest are:
(1) ARTISTIC
(2) OUTDOOR

ARTISTIC INTERESTS - this means that you enjoy activities that look at the artistic sides of things such as forms, designs, and patterns.
Examples: fashion designers, Interior decorators, graphic designers, landscape architects, make-up artists, painters, sketch artists, poets/lyricists, cartoonists, photographers, musicians, dancers, actors, directors, radio/TV announcers.

OUTDOOR INTERESTS - This means that you enjoy working with naturalistic environment such as plants and animals.
Examples: Landscaping workers, poultry/dairy farmers, cattle ranchers, fishermen, agriculturists, horticulturists, zoologists, agronomists, botanists, geologists, and marine biologists

whew. Now that's alot of interesting [and odd] options for the undecided, namely me.

I'm like a person before a fork road. Thinking on which one to take; because for sure, there wont be turning back.

Call me crazy but I still don't know what I plan to take up in college.  I'm fickle minded and I guess I'm still keeping my options open until I fully decide on what I want to take up. I don't want to waste too much years in college switching courses and majors.

I don't have the luxury of time for this. Clock's ticking. And I need to decide soon. :\

TAG!

November 09, 2008

The Rules:

- Each blogger starts with 15 weird/random facts/habits about themselves.

- Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their 15 things and post these rules.

- At the end of your blog, you need to choose ten people to get tagged and list their names.

READY, SET, GO:

1. I am deathly afraid of SPIDERS (more than cockroaches)

2. I am AMBIDEXTROUS. Well actually, I'm really a leftie. But when I was in preschool, my teacher insisted that I write using my right hand. So, I use my right hand for writing, but use my left with the rest.

3. I have this STUFFED DOG that I bring with me whenever I travel. (:P)

4.I don't like the color blue. Started hating it when I was in fifth grade. But that's the color I usually wear. :\

5.I like taking pictures of people's bald spots (Mostly older relatives)

6.I SEE DEAD PEOPLE. No, I'm kidding. But there are times when I WISHED I could

7. I am afraid of FIRE. I don't even know how to use lighters. lol.

8. I love going to the beach but I don't like getting dark

9. I am afraid of CLOWNS and DOLLS

10. I was freaked out when I met Tin in 2nd Grade. We were seatmates then she showed me this bone shaped pen and went: "This is my funny bone!". Then we became the best of friends after. :)

11. I still have my TOYS. My toys when I was a kid. They're kept somewhere in my room

12. I used to work in McDonalds when I was 8 - 10 years old. (3 years! Woot!) I also worked in Burger King!

13. I love music but I can't sing nor play an instrument

14. I stopped drinking from a baby bottle when I was 7

15. Every night, I always think of things I could blog about. Then I forget them the next day.

I'm breaking the last rule and I'M TAGGING ALL OF YOU! muahahahaha! No Tag backs!

heart,

Issa

p/s: Covadonga, I expect 45 things!

"YOU CANT SPELL HALLOWEEN WITHOUT 'OW' IN THE MIDDLE"

October 31, 2008

HALLOWEEN.

Prolly one of my favorite occasions.

The one night a year when one person can dress as someone (or something) totally different. A night where you don't have to be your real self.

Not to mention all the candy, scary stories, parties, experiences, and horror documentaries. Plus the toothaches and cavities you'll get afterwards.

Also, I'm this person who enjoys horror flicks, ghost hunting, telling ghost stories, and scaring people (myself included). I love talking about the girl in white with the long black hair, the invisible little girl laughing, the man standing in the corner of the room, the dogs howling at night, the unexplainable sounds, the knocking on your window, the usual 3 am wakings and etc. I like the feeling of being scared and I don't know why.

So,

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! Don't forget to brush your teeth tonight! :P

As for me, I won't be going trick or treating or attending a party this year. :( But, as much of a dork I am, I'll be up all night waiting for those Halloween Special Documentaries. Haha.

love love love,

ISSA

p/s: i was also supposed to blog about the Northern Downpour video but i can see that others have already. So all I can say is that I love it.

I've been away for three days (mom says i act like i've been gone for 3 months) and this is one of the best things (aside from family and friends) to come home to.

It's Been A Year...

October 12, 2008

Since I first met The Click Five.

Funny how it all seemed like it was just yesterday because I still remember everything.

How we were late for the show.

How we managed to get past the big crowd and the front.

How we jumped and sang to every song.

How the crowd stared at us while we were doing it.

How they rocked the crowd

How the conversation between me and the guys went.

How I failed to have a picture taken with them.

How the bouncer shoved me off.

How me and my sister got into a huge fight after.

Remembering all of these reminded me how happy I felt that night and why I dubbed it as 'the best night ever'.

It was the kind of happy like when you're finally able to get a thing after saving up for it for years. Like getting a new puppy.

It's pretty awesome how one night can change everything.

It was after this night when I met some of the best people in the world.  People who I share alot of common things with. People who make me happy. People who I can be open with. People who are more of a friend than my actual friends are. People who I consider my real friends. People really really important to me.

It was after this night when I became totally dedicated into things.

It was when I learned that if i wanted things to happen, I'd have to get up on my ass and do it myself.

True enough, I was able to do A LOT of things after that.

Thanks so much TC5.

And thanks to the boardies for always being there for me. <3
