My life has been nuts lately

May 21, 2009

..And I havent blogged. Ooops. Like my title says, its been crazy. Concerts. Online classes. Moving. Its been crazy. Things have calmed down considerably. March was the busiest I have been. Back and forth from Chicago to the northeast to see a few fellow bloggers in concert and to apartment hunt in Boston. I started 2 online classes that month too. After taking those classes, I think I prefer to be in the classroom. Then came the packing up of my room at my moms and a 20 hr drive. I moved into the room I rented end of March. the last two months have been pretty easy going. A few concerts here and there and concentrating on homework and registration for summer/fall classes. Nothng major. And speaking of class, I got to head over that way.

Anniversaries and new beginnings

February 27, 2009

Its crazy, after I read my friend Dayna’s blog, ‘How fragile life is’, I looked at my calendar to make my travel plans for next month to go see a few of my fellow blogger’s in concert, and I realized that the 15th anniversary of my dads passing of cancer is coming up. He passed away on March 13, 1994. It’s still hard on my mom when the date rolls around, and I admit, it is for me too still. I miss him.

Then again, there is also new beginnings in my family. On my moms side my cousin Rita and her husband Kenny recently flew down to Guatamala to bring home their 2nd adopted son from that country. They adopted the first about 6 yrs ago. In addition they had a little girl of their own about a year ago during the adoption process and recently Rita found out she is expecting again. So soon they will be a family with 4 little ones. Amazing how stuff like that happens. But I am happy for them.

every little thing helps

January 14, 2009

Today I decided to try and start going green, begining with my bank account, yeah you read it right. My bank account offers paperless statements so I chose to get those by my email instead of one sent thru the mail. I'm going to see what else I can do over the next few weeks to go green. Any suggestions??

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

December 16, 2008

I’m sitting in my room, replying to emails, Facebooking and looking out my bedroom window at my moms house. Its snowing. News is saying that we are due for 3-5 inches tonight. I love snow. I hate the cold though. I was talking to my friend Amelia on yahoo last night and its in the ‘90’s in Jakarta, Indonesia. How I wish I could just hop on a plane and go visit her. I know that’s kinda foolish, flying half the way around the world just for warm weather. Hopefully in the new year I will be able to go see her along with other friends that I made on Facebook. Its amazing how many that I have made because of being fans of a music group. I hope I get to meet some of you if I go visit Amelia.. Anyways on that note I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah…. Basically HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Reconnecting with classemates and bands

November 20, 2008

It must be reconnecting with old friends month. Lately I have been seeing classmates of mine add me on Facebook and some I have added myself. I love learning what they have been doing in their lives and one of them happens to be a singer in a metal group based out of Chicago. I have known Mike, the lead singer since Jr high and he has always been involved in music. Check out his bands Myspace page and let me know what you think! The link is below:

music and bands update

October 25, 2008

OK so I was suppost to go see Pensive in Chicago on Thursday night, well, unfortunately, one of the members of the group, Patrick, fell and broke his ankle! OUCH! I got lost anyways on the way to the venue so I missed their set. I admit, I dont really drive into Chicago that much. I prefer taking the commuter rail in and then using the "L" . Anyways, I'll catch them next time. :)

Football and my father

October 20, 2008

As I was watching the Broncos- Patriots game earlier tonight, I started thinking back to the times I spent with my dad watching college football and the Chicago Bears play. My dad was a huge football fan. Unfortunately my dad passed of cancer back in 1994. That’s why I am so passionate in supporting the American Cancer Society. By volunteering and raising funds for Cancer research we can find a cure. I loved my dad very much and I miss spending a weekend afternoon with him enjoying the games..
