I still believe in love stories

As cheesy as the title is, maybe my love stories is the music industry?

Last year at the CMT awards I was introduced to an artist that inspired me throughout the year. Taylor swift had been mentioned several times throughout that past year but I never really knew who she was. In 2008 I attended the CMT music awards and watched as she accepted award after award, seemed genuinely grateful, and even pulled off an amazing performance. I decided I had to check her out and throughout this past year I started to become a fan. There was this girl who was just a little bit younger then me who inspires me to keep working at my dream of working in the music industry. Why was it Taylor Swift that kept me inspired? Why not some country legend or even another icon that is out there?

            For some reason I admire Taylor for creating a type of music and lyrics that I can relate to. Yah may sounds dumb, but think about it. If you know me real well, you  1)know  I like pop music and 2) anyone that can write a song that is so meaningful and inspiring goes up on my list of favorite people. I have always been fascinated with the ability to turn feelings into songs not to mention a number one hit, week after week.

            Now I have heard stories of taylor being dramic and diva-like call me naive but, from what I have experienced she is a nice girl. And to be frank, I don’t care if it was just an act when she met me, the day I met her she made me realize that my goal of becoming successful and working in the music industry, can still be alive and that it takes time. Not just Taylor but anyone who can write lyrics, music, and have the personality, deserves to make it in the industry, but most importantly, someone that cares deserves it even more. Although I have said it before, when I am out of college I am going to work for somebody who cares about their fans. The music industry is falling apart but fans will always be there. CMA fest made me realize that music is still alive because of their fans.  

 Although I went to the taping of crossroads with t.swift and def. leppord and met her on another occasion last Sunday was my 1^st real performance and even though I sat at the way top it didn’t matter. The lyrics, music, and friends I spent the time with made it become real.

            Tonight was my 2^nd time watching the cmt awards and I hope to have found a new band for the year. Country music has never really been my thing, but I am learning to like it more and more. I am excited for my new band of the year and already have several picked out. I hope that one will last and that next cmt awards I can write a new blog with a new band.
