lo STRUMPET

February 23, 2009

that's how I'm going to address my blog from now on. It gives me trouble and bugs the hell out of me. Because I never know what to write.

I've been spending a lot of time looking at Carribean vacations I'll never go on. Anyone wanna go on one with me? I'm pretty fun, I'm good to travel with and punctual.

I need to clean desperately. There is no long metaphor about cleaning out my life, i really need to clean. My bedroom is MESSY!! Maybe I would sleep better in there if it wasn't.

But in truth, I am trying to cut off "friendships" which do not do anything for me. IE People that do not call, people that are big downers, people who are d bags. I shouldn't give the time of day to people that aren't giving it to me.

Back to work. I wanna be on a boat.

Jade really wants me to blog more in 2009. So, I will try. As I told her...I did not have much to write about (good stuff anyways) for the end of 2008. But, in the past few days since 2009 started (minus the whole January 1 hangover), I feel like I've woken up from a life coma. I'm laughing all the time, experiencing new things, and thinking about all the possibilities for my life that could occur in just this year.  I want to explore all the options this year. I went to New York in 2008 hurt, sad, and scared...and its still in me somewhere, but I just feel like I'm taking crazy pills every day now. I'm really impatient as to see where this takes me, as I am with everything, but if the next 12 months resemble the past week in any way, it will be a good year.

Hopefully, this good feeling lasts. And that I can keep my New years Resolutions!!!!!

I love West Side Story. I cannot wait to go up to NY and see this. Its probably my favorite Broadway musical.

The thought of rival gang members singing and dancing around the city streets just gets me going!!!

I tried to embed it about 50000000 times and now im too lazy. so watch that if you want to.

Another good fall weekend

October 20, 2008

I was asked this weekend what charity I chose to support for The One Love this weekend, and it was the first time I was asked. It kind of threw me off, but it was a great because it gave me a chance to really verbalize what I thought about. I chose the Make A Wish foundation because a neighbor of mine (a friend of my younger brother's) was diagnosed with cancer and they reached out to him at the time. I have a more blessed life than I am probably ever aware of, so this particular situation stuck out in my mind when choosing. He was a really strong kid who pulled through, but it was difficult to watch someone so young go through that kind of battle.

Also, making children happy has always been one of my joys in life. Every child deserves to have happy experiences and love. I worked at Build-a-Bear for four years, and while I did my fair share of complaining off the job, I loved being there and helping out friendly people, especially children. I love making people laugh and feel special. It was so much fun and I felt like I could really be my own silly self when I was hosting parties or dressing up like the mascot - If I find the picture, I will definitely post it. I might not have ever made the most money or had the best hours, but it was an experience I always look back on and smile. The music was always obnoxious though! :)

Apparently McFly Tom and I look kind of related...and top dance parties

October 13, 2008

..according to Jade.

My whole family is British, so maybe we are. Which would kind of suck, bc the more hot guys you are related to, the less hot guys that are available to date! (Except when you're in Kentucky...which , wait I am...JK)

I am super excited to hopefully see Family Force Five this weekend in Covington, I have never seen their show, but their music makes me happy and I have good memories of it (Uhh, car dancing anyone?)

Speaking of dance parties, who likes 'em? I LOVE them. Dancing probably makes me the most happy. Weddings, parties, girls nights, getting ready to go out, out at the "club", concerts.... Pulling out tricks (the WORM, anyone?) and dance battles are the best!

Some examples: Jade, Cassie, Me, Cathy, and our friend Brinn went to see the Backstreet Boys and the Click Five in Canada for certain reasons pertaining to a certain age to engage in certain activities. We had lawn tickets, so I'm way too short to see anything, but during the Click Five's set, we stood in the back of the seated section and ROCKED OUT!! Basically, every Canadian in the theatre was watching us..Screaming the words to every song and "Resigning" it all over the place. If i find any of the pics on my old computer, I will post them later.

When I was a kid, I used to dance around my living room and just keep turning in circles while the record player was playing ..yes, we still were using our record player. My favorite song was The Bangles - Hazy Shade of Winter. The hair was just too amazing.

Also, Coolio invited everyone on stage once at a local radio show and so of course, I jumped up there and now its one of my random facts of life. Gangsters' Paradise indeed.

In a shameless plug for comments, please let me know the best dance party you have EVER had. (It also gives me ideas for my next one)

October 09, 2008

Happy belated birthday, one love!

So this is what its like to have a picture on the site and be able to write WHATEVER I LIKE!? After perusing the blogs for awhile now (I guess one whole year) and being able to pass judgment on entries solely on the subject line that pops up on the feed, I have stepped up to the plate. I am really excited to be blogging on this site. I really have enjoyed knowing several of the bloggers here and can't wait to meet more.

I'm Leigh Bradford. I work as a web developer in Louisville, KY - hometown to many one love bloggers: Cassie, Cathy, and ChrisStahl. I love rap music and working on my fake rap career. I'm an Gemini, enjoy long walks on the beach and romantic candlelit....uhh,

I've known Cassie since we were in 6th and 7th grade. If I could find and post a picture from that time, it more than likely involve us in our volleyball uniforms or dancing around my Christmas-light covered room screaming Make Em Say Uhh. (And if you're really bored, I guarantee you-tubing that would not be a waste of 2 minutes) But I'm pretty sure that event was the start to a music-filled, chaotic 11 years of general ridiculousness with some brilliant moments filled in here and there. Most recently, ending up in Boston/New Hampshire/Maine last weekend. She's probably one of the reasons I am on the internet as much as I am.

Moving on from the Cassie mini-tribute/shout out, I talk a lot more than I write, but I'll try to put type it if it's interesting enough. I look forward to blogging, reading, and being a part of The One Love!
