You wake up, another year is gone

January 15, 2009

You're twenty....two.

yeahhhhh... my birthday is tomorrow lol. Birthdays feel weird to me now. I'm like, "Crap, I feel old" and technically I am.. well, a year older. Meh... I kinda just want to hide in my bed the entire day hah. My birthdays usually are pretty boring. Around 1:15pm I'll be on my way to Boston, though :) Then Saturday I'm heading to New York! I desperately want to come across Gossip Girl filming - bahahahahahaha. I doubt they film on the weekends, but I can hope. Either way, I'm going to do a lot of sight seeing and take a lot of photos. Everytime I've been to New York I've never really seen anything, I decided I need to this time. It's my little birthday present to me.

And I start college again on the 26th.. do-not-want. BUT I'M NOT GONNA THINK ABOUT IT! Positive thinking!

...positive thinking didn't win me the lotto last night, though :| lol

I did it!

December 23, 2008

It's alllllllllllll mine :)

om nom nom

December 22, 2008

lol I don't know why I named my blog this, but it makes me laugh.

ANYWAY

I'm sure everyone here has always wanted something REALLY badly, right? Like a car, or a kitty, or a band member (ha). Well now after 15+ years of drooling at electric guitars, I'm going to finally go buy one! I can't afford it, but I'm gonna do it anyway! I'm wondering what I should get though.

Do I go all out and get the super awesome (but cheapest) telecaster that I've always wanted?

OR

Do I start off small and get a beginner kit? But what kind of beginner kit? Not gonna lie, I don't know a lot about guitars. Probably should have spent all those years learning about them.. owell.

ahh I'm really excited. not so excited about the pain my fingers will be enduringthough :P

Have you ever..

December 11, 2008

Just wanted to get on a plane and go somewhere? If you had the money, would you?

Next month is my birthday. Meh boring, always is. But this year I could make it not boring. I could just get on a plane and goto London, like I've been itching to do for the last few months. I've already been there, but so what? I love London and I've got a nice camera I could use over there. That's all I really want to do over there. Take pictures, I mean. But at the same time I'm like "eh.. I don't wanna wander London alone", but at the same time I'm like "Oh i don't care" haha I don't know.. too many sernarios go through my head. Like what could I be saving this money for? Hm.. I suppose I could save it to go towards another semester of school, but what fun is that?! I feel like I'm always being responsible and saving my money. I should just be spontanious for once, right? Hm.. maybe I will goto London. Hm..

If you hate reading, go see the movie. It's not exactly the same, but it's pretty close. But seriously, go see it. Edward Cullen will be your new favorite dead person vampire.

Ice Cream and Photographs

November 09, 2008

Mmmm... I just had mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was yummy. Anywho, I realized I had never posted any of the photos I've taken for school, so I thought I'd do that today. Annnnnnnnd go!

So there is only three.. but I figured I wouldn't bombard you all :P lol not to mention that most of my photos are complete crap. Photo assignments aren't as easy as you'd think. Ah well.. that is all tonight. Hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Did yesterday really happen?

November 06, 2008

Did Barack Obama really win?

I'm still in shock.

I got off the plane in NYC for my layover and saw it all over the tv's, still thinking it couldn't be real. I can't even explain how happy I am. Thank you to everyone that voted for him. I really think Barack is going to do some great things.

Anyway, I got home around 12am from a very amazing trip to California, then crashed on my couch. It's going to be a pain getting my sleeping schedule back to normal. I'm kind of sad to be home.. I miss my friends. But I have the new Twilight movie to look forward to now :D really excited for that. I started reading the first book on my last hour home. Definitely is the best book outta the 4.

I started playing Final Fantasy X again while I was in Cali too. I had never finished it when I owned itmyself. A around 3 years ago while on a trip to Boston, my PS2 and all of my games got stolen. Tragic moment for me. I love my video games. I just recently got a PS2 again about a couple months ago. Anyway, my bff's boyfriend let me borrow the game so I could finish it.  So that's another thing I'm looking forward to.It's a really good game, along with all of the Final Fantasy series. If you're a gamer, definitely pick them up. There's like 12 of them. They're all different stories and characters though, except for Final Fantasy X-2, that one has some of the same characters. Some people didn't like that game though cause it was a bit girly. I loved it though. AAAANYWAYYY enough about my video games. It's already 4:30am and I need to get my schedule back in order.

Night everyone!

This is Halloween

October 31, 2008

I just had a The Nightmare Before Christmas moment. Happy Halloween everyone!

California

October 21, 2008

I love this place. It's nice and warm, there are palm trees and my best friend is here. I never want to leave. ESPECIALLY AFTER THE LONGEST FLIGHT OF MY LIFE. Oh my god.. the flight here was just too long. I mean, I've done it twice before and I've even done longer trips than 6 hours, but this last one was just ughhh. I could not get comfortable, it was stuffy, and my ears would NOT pop. It hurt :( But I am here now and I am pretty damn happy :) except..

I REALLY hate men right now

Why the hell do you flirt with us to death when YOU HAVE A DAMN GIRL FRIEND?! I sware I can't even count how many times this has happened to me now. You men either are A. aren't interested, but sure as hell seem it or B.  Have a gf.

I hate men.

Stuck at JFK

October 18, 2008

So at 5am I started my adventure to the Portland, Maine airport.

The plan: Goto California and surprise my best friend for her bday.

Little did I know that during take off we'd suddenly stop and be stuck in repairs for over an hour. So what happens? I miss my connecting flight at JFK to Oakland, CA. Now I am at JFK, waiting for the next flight to California. How many hours to I get to sit here? Five..

But I get free wireless! So all is well :D Unfortunately, I won't be getting to California at 1pm anymore. My flight doesn't get in til 7:30pm :( and because my friends boyfriend couldn't just leave her bday party without saying anything, my friend now knows I am coming. Little bit sad I couldn't just show up and surprise her. But that's okay. She had no idea I was coming and is super stoked to see me :) I am excited. It is now 11:30am. Only 3 and a half hours to go~

I feel the need to get sappy

October 13, 2008

Thank you to EVERYONE I have ever come in contact with. Even the people who have brought me down, taken advantage of my friendship, lied to me, etc. You have shown me what NOT to be and made me a better person. Over the past few years I have been through so many friends. It had got to the point where I didn't even want friends anymore. I was tired of always getting hurt.

Now that I've started blogging here, I want to make friends again. You are some of the nicest and coolest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting or reading about. I love reading about your experiences, even the sad ones, and thank you for reading  all of my pathetic ramblings. If any of you ever need anything, I've got your back :)

Thank you again <3

Never thought this could happen

October 10, 2008

My sister called today. She's been getting some testing done lately and the doctors found out she has some irregular things going on with her. I'm forgetting exact details. Something like a cyst on her pancreas and something about her liver is bigger than it should be. They also are saying they don't know what is wrong with her but that one of the possibilities is hepatitis. From what we've been able to gather on the internet, we want to say type A. We can't be sure though.

Then of course if that comes out positive, her husband would have to be tested. So you could tell she was getting upset and thinking "what is going to happen to my little girls if we're both sick?". I don't know what to do. It's one of those things that you never think is going to come into your life, you know? I don't want anything to happen to my sister, but I fear more for my nieces. I don't want them to be left with my brother in law and his family. I don't like them. Tomorrow I think I'm going to change my plans and go stay with my sister. I don't see her enough.

Socialvibe.com

October 09, 2008

This site is pretty cool. You can join for free and pick any one cause you'd like. Then you pick a sponser and they give you points everytime you login, have someone join, edit your status, etc. that go towards raising money for your cause. If you get the platinum level (you start off as gold) by doing a survey, then they'll let you choose another sponser. Sponsers also do contests sometimes, so if you choose that sponser that week they're doing something, you can win like concert tix or something. But yeah, This site is just a really neat and easy way to help out your favorite cause :)

Mcfly post #4 and so on

October 08, 2008

MCFLY COMING TO AMERICAS?!?!?!?!?!!

I'm starting a fund right now. I'm getting a bus and I'm going to every show. Feel free to join me.

Omg you don't even know how excited I am. I have been waiting for this for so long. I was fortunate enough to see them in Scotland but this is going to be so much better. I'm going to throw up everywhere in happiness, you don't even know.

Ok so aside from Mcfly amazingness, I'm really sad cause Family Force 5 is going to Boston on the 11th and I can't go. Hotels have got so expensive. A hotel that i stayed at the last time I was in the area has gone from $50 to $150. Another hotel that I stayed at has gone from $100 to almost $400. Sighhhhhh I always miss the good shows.

BUT OMG MCFLY IS COMING TO AMERICA *dance*

Yay One Love!

October 07, 2008

I know it's kind of late but

Happy Birthday!

YEAH YEAH WHOA

OKAY I'm done haha. Happy Birthday to this wonderful site we're all on. If you haven't already, watch Ruth's video because it's the most amazing thing you'll ever see.

Tonight is the second presidental debate. Never in a million years did I ever think I'd be excited to watch a debate, and I'm proud to say I'll be rooting for Obama. I won't go on and on about that. Just wanted to bring it up and hope that you all will tune in too.

Today I got my progress grades for my college classes. I'm doing amazing in all but my English Composition one. Go figure. If you haven't noticed already, I'm not much of writer. I really wish I was because there are times when I have things that i want to say, but I just can't express them how I'd like to. It's super frustrating. But anyway, I'm super proud of myself for doing well in my classes :) I've been told it's really hard to A's and B's and I've got them both! So yay me!

I just realized I had said I'd promote a band at the end of each of my blogs and I haven't been doing it.  Unless you count my last blog. Anyway, I'm going to promote Article A here again because they're doing a live video chat tomorrow on Justin.tv. It's at 6:30pm eastern time and I think you all should join in.

I'm also super excited becauseJade asked me if I'd like to interview them. I obviously said yes, so that is going to be set up sometime this week.

I'm in desperate need of a concert. I think I need to plan a trip to Boston to see Family Force 5. I still have yet to see them live. Who wants to go with me?

P.s. I just noticed I say super too much.

--> Read Me! <--

October 05, 2008

I decided I needed to take advantage of the fact that I can blog about anything I want. So It's time for...

Go check out these bands/musicians/artists/etc. cause Meg said so!

Okay first. Ruth Collins. Freakin' love her. I know there is already a post about her in the news section, but I'm gonna say it here again. GOOOOO TOOO HERRR MYSPACE! Go go! Her new song is amazing and she is awesome!

www.myspace.com/ruthcollins

Now for a band that I've seen way too many times.

The Click Five!

They're amazing live and have super fun songs to rock out to. I was fortunate enough to hear some of their new songs on facebook, thanks to Kyle Patrick's dad. Guys, I have no words. They're just that good. You can add anyone of the band members on facebook and check out their tagged videos to see what I mean. Make sure you check them out on myspace too.

www.myspace.com/theclickfive

Next is the band Article A. They randomly started posting on The Click Five's boards and it made me lol. Their music is actually really good and they freakin' love their fans. It's awesome. So go check them out on myspace and make sure to check out a show or 100.

An Artists Biography

October 04, 2008

So I have this English Compsition class and we had to write an artists biography. I think I mentioned it in an earlier blog. Well, this is my final draft. Unfotunately, it's not good enough. They want more detail. More "Show" not "tell" gah.. I am not a good writer. It was difficult just writing what I have. Any feedback would be great.

I think Art has always been a part of my life, even from a small age while I was growing up in Maine. I would watch my mother paint often when I was a child and seeing as how my father was a hunter, I would imagine I got my artistic side from my mother. I have always loved to draw and paint, and participated in Art classes in school, but I never thought I was ever any good. I also enjoyed my drama classes. But, those were the only things about school I ever really enjoyed. Kids were mean, teachers were cruel, and homework stunk. In the 5th grade my mother finally started home schooling me. Thank God! I was much happier at home, even if it meant being away from the few friends I had, but by being away from school, it opened up more time for me.

When I was in my late teens I started becoming drastically more interested in music, thinking that I would most likely have a job in that business someday. I began traveling to Boston frequently with friends and went to concerts religiously. That's when I became interested in Photography. At one of those concerts I realized something. I never went to a show without my camera, and if a venue didn't allow them, I felt lost without mine. During the shows I was allowed a camera, I would always be snapping photos, always trying to capture a special moment on stage. I had finally found what I wanted to do with my life.

The next step for me was figuring out how I wanted to go about becoming a photographer. I began thinking about college. Never in a million years did I think I would actually go to one. I had disliked school after all. But nevertheless, I started looking up colleges and came across the Academy of Art in San Francisco. I saw that I could get a real degree while taking online classes and decided that was definitely the way I wanted to go for my college experience.

Once I was enrolled, it was time for me to go find my first REAL camera. While visiting my best friend in sunny California, we traveled to a huge electronics store, called Frys, and began my search for the perfect one. That's when I came across my Canon Rebel XTi. I had heard good reviews about it from my best friends boyfriend and decided that it was the one to get. Not to mention, he got me a discount on it since he worked in that department. Once we arrived back to my friend's apartment, I immediately tore the camera box open and placed the lens into the camera body. Once my it was finally together, I brought the camera to my eye and I began taking photos of all of the things that I could; my friends, the flowers surrounding the apartment complex, the large pool, the adorable pet cats,  everything I could see. I particularly enjoyed taking photos of the sky and it's bright blue color against the white fluffy clouds that day.

When I was back at home in Maine, I found a love for fashion photography after watching many episodes of America's Next Top Model. The photographers on the show would come up with amazing concepts for their photoshoots. The way their photos would come out at the end would make me speechless. I can't begin to explain how amazing they were. It has made me want to get into that field of work someday. Either fashion or concert photography; since that was my first passion. In a month, it will have been one year since I was in California buying my first camera. I'm now in my second semester at the Academy. In another year's time I'll be that much closer to having my dream job.

Frustrated

September 25, 2008

I have a photo assignment to do for my Visualization class and I'm stuck. I've got Today and Sunday to get it done, cause it's going to rain the rest of the week.

Create one image that takes an object (the objective), and tells a clear story (narrative, the subjective). Please pay attention to lighting, framing and composition, as assignments will be graded for their artistic expression as well. All images must be in black and white.

Objective
1. Not influenced by personal feelings or opinions.
2. Not dependent on the mind for existence; actual.

Subjective
1. Based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions.
2. Dependent on the mind for existence.

This wouldn't be AS hard if I wasn't stuck in this town. Our population is around 4,000. We have no department stores and no stop lights. I'm pretty much in the middle of no where, so I'm lacking imagination right now. If I was in a city, I could probably use people in this some how. Anyway.. ideas anyone? If you give me a winning idea, I'll love you forever.

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away

September 21, 2008

"Now it looks as though they're here to stay. Oh, I believe in yesterday."

Good song, but yesterday sucked. Don't really want to get into it, though i will say..

"I'll be here forever, even if you leave."

And this is because I care. Everything I've done is because I CARE. If that makes me a freak, then so be it.

Probably not making much sense. But that's okay. I made this for me, not anyone else. Back to my pile of home work. Good night.

College is scary

September 19, 2008

I thought college was going to fun. Boooy was I wrong. I feel like I am constantly doing homework. I think I mentioned in my last blog that I'm a Photography major. After a little inspiration from these weirdos in some band called The Click Five, I finally decided to start classes online (I'm in my second semester now). I don't know what the point of this blog is really. I guess it's just me realizing how hard college really is, and finding an excuse not to get my artist autobigraphy done.

don't ask what it is.

Oh, I'm going to use this time to tell you a little about my website *points to link on the left side of the page* it's a little idea I came up with a few years ago that I've finally brought to life. My friend Lisa and I use the site to help promote more unknown bands/singers (and maybe a couple "bigger" ones). We try to get photographs, concert reviews, interviews, and some other things up so people can get more information on them. It's going a little slow right now since we both are in school, but if anyone would be interesting in helping out, shoot me an e-mail. My wish is for a bunch of people all over the world to be involved with the site someday. Though.. I probably should focus more on college first ;) and I should probably goto bed. I'm up at the butt crack of dawn again after playing World of Warcraft. Yeah, I'm a loser. Ok! Going to bed now.. right after this!

ARTIST PROMOTION TIME!

Ok, so! for the past few months I've been listening to Lights. You might have seen/heard her sing in some old Navy commercials. Anyway, shes from Canada and shes really cute (and totally plays world of warcraft!), you all should check out her music at www.myspace.com/lightsnoise. Ok now I'm going to bed lol Night!

Hello World!

September 18, 2008

I feel like I've won the lottery!  I have been selected to be a "trial" blogger here on the site. When I opened up my e-mail earlier informing me of this I went "WHAT?!" haha. Well thank you Cassie and Jade! I will try to blog well lol. Sooo.. It is currently 2am on the east coast and I'm about to watch a movie with my friend Steve (not Duchardt, unfortunately) But yeah, I'm going to go do that for now. I will mess with my profile and other things tomorrow. Good night!

Two hours later:

Hello again! I just got done watching the movie >~()$@@-College-)*#$@! (I don't know why I put all the symbols around it). It was hilarious! If you get the chance go see it! So I should probably tell you all some things about me. I am 21, I live in Maine, I like concerts, I'm a photography major, and I tend to ramble on about nothing. There are a lot of other pointless facts, but I decided to keep it short and simple. Don't want to bore any of you. I think I'm finally tired and should get some sleep. I have a ton of homework to get done. So, good night again!
