In My Opinion...

This show "Sex with mom and dad" on MTV is extremely disturbing. I just watched an episode where a 16 year old girl decided she wanted a purity ring and her mom was totally against it and really encouraging her to explore her sexuality. I don't understand why any parent would try to force their child to explore sexual situations if it makes them uncomfortable. The girl had never even kissed a guy before. Honestly, I didn't kiss a guy until I was 15. I don't think that makes me abnormal at all. I also never talked about sex with my mom and never would want to know about her sex life AT ALL. That just seems creepy to me. I understand being open with your kids but I also think that when they're ready, they will come to you. But yeah, everyone is different blahblahblah wawawa. That bring me to episode 2.

In the second episode there was a 19 year old girl who is BFFs with her mom. They goto clubs and party together and her mom gets drunk with her. I also don't understand as a mom, a responsible adult, encouraging your underage children to drink. Because that happens to be illegal. The mom admitted to letting her daughters friends come over and drink at their house when they were like 15 years old. That's making decisions for OTHER peoples children. Because as an adult, telling an impressionable child that it's okay might change their situation and viewpoint on drugs and alcohol. The girl lost her virginity when she was 16 years old and has had 7 partners in 3 years... and her mom is totally okay with that. 

I know people don't usually tend to agree with me when it comes to sex, drugs, or alcohol. Everyone is their own person. I don't judge anyone for living their lives however they choose. What I don't agree with is forcing your opinions onto your children or friends. Peer pressure basically. Ugh I just hate MTV.
