Gifts to be Given

May 02, 2008

Hey guys! Happy Friday!  Hope everybody has had an awesome week! I know I have!

Last Saturday Vic and I played the Country Music Marathon.  It got off to kinda a rough start because it was pouring and the stages were not covered!!! AHHH!  So we waited it out and by our last song I think the sun actually came out!!!  We had so much fun watching all the runners.  They were incredible!  I can't imagine running even the half marathon let along 26 miles!!! Are you kidding me? These people are super heros!  And then there were the Kenyans!  I think they ran the whole thing in like...maybe 20 seconds...?? heehe

Sunday night we went to see a fabulous show at 3rd and Lindsley, one of our favorite clubs in town.  Sean McConnell played first and I was blown away! That boy could sing the telephone book I swear!  Tyler Hilton played next and was amazing as usual.  Check out the Wild Honey myspace for pics with tyler and the band!

Other than that the big thing that happened to me this week... I received an amazing gift!  Now anyone who knows me knows it's kinda hard for me to accept things from people.  I don't know why I have this problem but I hate asking for help and I don't feel like I deserve it most of the time... My ex-boyfriends mother used to give me gifts all the time and at first it freaked me out. But then I realized that gift giving isn't just about the person who recieves the gift.  People get joy out of giving. It makes them happy too!!!  It's still hard for me to be ok with gifts but I'm working on it!!!  I can only hope that I can live my life giving as much as I can in any way I can. I don't have much to give, but i can use the gifts I have been given (music, friendship, love) and try to give back.  So to Matt. Thank you so much for the beautiful guitar.  It is more than I could've ever asked for.  I've been obsessed with gibson acoustics for years and I am now the proud owner of my own gorgeous hummingbird!

And thanks to the one love.  This site helps us all to be givers... and that's amazing!

love,

ruthie
